Bookkeeper Needed

Washington State Schoolgirls Lacrosse seeks an organized professional to manage the financial record keeping of our growing non-profit organization. The Bookkeeper will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Treasurer. This important team member will manage accounts receivable and payable, account reconciliation, prepare bank deposits, and other bookkeeping tasks to maintain WSLA’s healthy and clean financial position.

This is a part-time position, with workload varying throughout the year. During the season (Jan- Jun) generally 15-20/hrs a mo., July-Oct 2-5 hours a mo and Nov-Dec 5-10 hours per month.

Job responsibilities include:

Bookkeeping and Administration

  • Utilize QuickBooks to record expenses, receipts and produce financial statements monthly (P&L, BS, Cashflow) by 5th work day of the month.
  • Receive checks and deposit at bank (approx 400 receipts per year, some electronic)
  • Issue checks in payment of expenses (approx. 100 checks per year). Bookkeeper is an account signer.
  • Generate invoices for programs that do not proactively submit and follow up on delinquent accounts.
  • Prepare tax donation letters/receipts as needed
  • Perform annual 1099 reporting process for select vendors.
  • Respond to A/P or A/R inquiries and execute follow-up action
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Produce IRS form 990, submitted after review by Treasurer (negotiable)
  • Support adhoc special billing processes
  • Maintain compliance with state non-profit requirements
  • Perform other related duties as requested

Background and Educational Requirements:

  • Past work experience in non-profit bookkeeping (cash basis)
  • Experience with accounting practices and standard accounting software (QuickBooks required)
  • Excellent PC skills, including word-processing, spreadsheet, and accounting software in a Windows-type environment

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 /hour depending on experience

Start Date: Immediately
