Assistant Coach: Emily Stanford
Emily grew up playing lacrosse in the state of Washington and had the wonderful opportunity to play for the club team at Western Washington University. Her passion for athletics drove her to earn a degree in Kinesiology and Sports Psychology, and pursue a fulfilling career coaching barbell training for both health and competitive development.
After several seasons with Seattle Starz and the Bellevue youth program, Emily is now the head coach for Bellevue’s high school team, and the director of coaching for Bellevue Wolverine’s Girls Lacrosse. Additionally, Emily works full time for Fulcrum Barbell Club, a position which has led her to coach Olympic weightlifting on the local circuit, the national stage and at the 2016 Olympic Trials.
Emily’s coaching philosophy centers on the idea that sports can be used to empower individuals, connect communities, and explore the edges of performance. She is thrilled to be working with Team Washington, and looks forward to this exciting experience!
