Washington Youth Lacrosse

Registration for the youth season begins on January 15th and will close on January 27th.

The season starts, as early as, February 24th for practices. The youth rating Jamboree will be held on March 15&16 in a variety of locations. Registration for the jamboree will open on February 1st.

14U per team $1100

As a reminder, this year for 12U we are shifting to 8v8 on small sided field. We anticipate more programs to be able to field 12U teams but the main focus for this change is player development. Many players "hide" whether they like to or not, in a full field scenario. This allows more players to get touches on the ball, as well as, increase the pace of the game!

12U Scenarios and WSLA Recommendations

•12-18 players > 1 team, 1-2 coaches 

•18-24 players > consider 2 teams OR 1 team with 3 pods - assign 2 pods to each game & practice all players together

•24-36 players > 2 teams, 2-3 coaches

•36-45 players > consider 3 teams or 2 teams with pod rotation   

•Multiple 12U teams?  > create even, skill based teams (recreational lacrosse, not A and B teams)

•You know your program best relative to practice and game attendance. Pick a solution that works for your program.
